Milita Odisha Nisha Nibaran Abhijan (MONNA), an organisation of social activists pressing for complete prohibition in the State, will start a signature campaign in all the Assembly constituencies. The month-long campaign will start on September 2 from the Hinjli Assembly segment in Ganjam district, which is represented by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. A similar signature campaigns will be carried out in all the 147 Assembly segments of the State, said over veteran Gandhian and former MLA Padma Charan Nayak, who heads MONNA. Major vote bank Speaking to the media in Berhampur on Friday, Mr Nayak said through the signature campaign MONNA wants to make elected MLAs of different political parties realise that the anti-liquor lobby is a major vote bank, which they cannot ignore.
