Chinese state media has welcomed the truce in the trade war between China and the U.S., amid apprehensions that follow-up negotiations are unlikely to yield quick returns.A commentary in the state run Xinhua news agency, following talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Argentina, said that, “The Xi-Trump meeting has put a brake on the China-U.S. trade dispute to prevent it from further escalation.”
