C CARES Version 2.0

The Ministry of Coal has recently launched the upgraded C CARES Version 2.0 portal.

Overview of C CARES Version 2.0

C CARES Version 2.0 is the enhanced web platform of the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organization (CMPFO). Designed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), the portal seeks to streamline and bring greater transparency to the disbursement processes of Provident Fund (PF) and pension benefits for workers in the coal industry.

This improved digital interface integrates coal sector employees, coal companies, and CMPFO on a single platform, enabling features such as real-time tracking of claims, automated updating of financial ledgers, and direct credit of benefits to workers’ bank accounts.

Supported by the State Bank of India (SBI), the system is expected to quicken the settlement of claims, enhance service delivery, and simplify access for stakeholders. A mobile application has also been developed for CMPF subscribers, which allows users to check their profiles, monitor claims, file grievances, and view PF balances. The app is equipped with a chatbot for smoother navigation and easier access to information.

On the administrative side, the system offers a prescriptive dashboard for coal companies and CMPFO staff. This dashboard generates tailored reports, analyzes trends in claim settlements, and aids in data-backed decision-making to enhance operational efficiency.
