Context

The Great Indian Startup Boom of the last decade, led by young entrepreneurs and catalysed by the government’s Startup India movement, created an environment of entrepreneurship in India. The Startup movement is not limited to metro cities, but has successfully captured the imagination of suburban and rural entrepreneurs.

Startup India 2.0

  • Market access: The government is working to help startups reach new markets. This includes supporting startups to participate in international trade fairs and exhibitions, and providing access to government procurement opportunities.
  • Support infrastructure: The government is working to develop the support infrastructure for the startup ecosystem. This includes setting up incubators and accelerators, providing access to mentors and advisors, and creating a network of angel investors and venture capitalists.

The Startup India 2.0 initiative is a major step forward in the government’s efforts to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in India. The initiative is expected to create millions of jobs and boost the country’s economic growth.
