The 22nd edition of Exercise Khaan Quest was recently held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Overview
  • Type: Multinational UN-mandated peacekeeping exercise
  • Inception: Initiated in 2003 as a bilateral exercise between the U.S. and Mongolia
  • Multinational Format: Became a multinational drill in 2006, now involving multiple nations under the UN framework
Objectives
  • Improve interoperability among armed forces in multinational environments
  • Enhance military preparedness for UN peacekeeping and peace support operations
Key Tactical Drills
  • Checkpoints: Establishing mobile and static checkpoints
  • Search Operations: Conducting cordon and search missions
  • Patrolling and Evacuation: Includes routine patrolling and civilian evacuation operations
  • IED Response: Counter-IED techniques and procedures
  • Combat Medical Support: Combat first aid and casualty evacuation drills
