The Jamboo Savaris involved caparisoned elephants carrying howdahs with portraits of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari and Chamundeshwari on the consecutive days. Seer of Mukti Mutt in Belagavi Gurusiddha Someshwara Shivacharya and Kumar Virupaksha Swami of Moorsusavira Mutt, Uppinabetageri, accompanied by other seers, flagged off the jamboo savari organised by the Dharwad Jamboo Savari Utsav Samiti led by Gururaj Hunshimarad at Ishwar temple in Gandhi Nagar on Thursday. The former Union Minister Babagouda Patil was the chief guest at the event in which over 80 cultural troupes participated. A colourful procession passed through Hubballi Road, Hosayellapur, Gandhi Chowk, Subhas Road before culminating at Kadapa Maidan where cultural programmes were held. As folk artistes presented exuberant performances, people who stood along the roadside cheered them.
