Lord Willingdon to be Governor.

H.M. the King has been pleased to approve the appointment of Captain George Ambrose Lloyd, C.I.E., D.S.O., to be Governor of Bombay in succession to Baron Willingdon of Ratton G.C.S.I., G.C.I.E., who will vacate the office in the autumn. The King has been pleased to approve the appointment of Baron Willingdon of Ratton G.C.S.I., G.C.I.E., to be Governor of Madras in succession to Baron Pentland of Lyth, G.C.I.E., who will vacate office in the spring. Lord Willingdon’s appointment to the Governorship of Madras after a lengthened tenure of office in Bombay is an exceptional measure and it is a source of satisfaction to His Majesty’s Government that his ripe experience and knowledge of the country will not be lost to India on the termination of his present appointment.
