Lok Sabha members discussed the General Budget for 17 hours, while the Lower House also discussed demands for grants for various Ministries, including Railways for 13 hours, Road and Transport for over 7 hours and Rural Development and Agriculture for 10 hours 36 minutes, Speaker Om Birla said on Thursday. The Lok Sabha has sat till midnight twice to complete its legislative business and “till July 16, 2019, the Lok Sabha’s productivity was at 128%, which is the highest for any session in the past 20 years,” PRS Legislative Research said.
