The regular services will commence from December 26 from Bengaluru and from December 27 from Mysuru. This is an extension of the service, which was operating between Bengaluru and Ramangaram. The MEMU service is the latest to be introduced between Mysuru and Bengaluru and it will shore up connectivity between the two cities. It is expected to help the daily commuters shuttling between various towns along the stretch. The train is scheduled to depart from Bengaluru at 7.55 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to reach Mysuru at 10.50 p.m. and will take 2 hours and 55 minutes to cover the distance. In the return direction, it will depart at 4.45 p.m. from Mysuru on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to reach Bengaluru at 8.30 p.m., the journey taking 3 hours and 45 minutes owing to a 40-minute halt at Ramanagaram. Sources said this was owing to technical reasons and pathway issues and may be sorted out after a few months.
