Indian Coast Guard vessels have prevented apprehension of two Indian fishing boats by the Pakistani agencies. The Coast Guard’s patrol vessel, Rajratan, was alerted after intercepting a VHF communication regarding a “Pakistani warship chasing two fishing boats, reportedly operating in Pakistan waters.” Subsequently, the Coast Guard vessel intercepted two Indian boats — Mayshab Maa (GJ-10-MM-3480) and Safina Al Tahiri (GJ-10-MM-1761) — both registered at Okha in Gujarat. There were 19 fishermen on board two trawlers. According to Coast Guard sources, a Pakistan maritime surveillance ship ‘Basol’ had apprehended another Indian boat, Khuda Dost Ka Karam with 11 fishermen on board. “The Coast Guard is holding talks with Pakistan agencies for the release of this boat,” said a press release in Gujarat.
