Pakistan will let pilgrims visit Kartarpur gurdwara: Sidhu

Says announcement regarding this will be made soon
Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday welcomed Pakistan’s decision to allow pilgrims to pay obeisance at the Kartarpur Sahib gurdwara across the border. However, Pakistan or India is yet to confirm the decision officially. At a press conference here, Mr. Sidhu said, “They (Pakistan) are ready to allow and facilitate the pilgrims to pay obeisance on the occasion of the 550th ‘Parkash Divas’ of Guru Nanak Dev at the Kartarpur Sahib gurdwara. An announcement regarding this is likely soon.”
“The decision has been taken by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan after consulting all the stakeholders,” Mr. Sidhu said. “This news is nothing short of a dream-come-true for every Punjabi. There could be no bigger happiness for a Punjabi,” he said thanking Mr. Khan.
“Mr. Khan has walked not just two steps, but miles. With this decision they have sent a message of friendship and it is for our government to respond,” Mr. Sidhu said.
Advocating talks between the two nations, Mr. Sidhu said that communication should not break as talks are the only solution to resolve issues between the two nations. Only dialogue can bring peace and prosperity in the region ,” he added.
