A meeting attended by 48 members of the Parsi Community was held yesterday [September 22] at the Anjuman Hall [in Rangoon] to consider the position of the Parsee trusts. The present trustee Mr. B. Cowasjee was appointed by the court 30 years go and was a prominent figure in the intigation over the performance of the Narjote ceremony upon Bella, a young girl whose mother was a Parsi. The meeting unanimously passed a resolution in favour of a board of trustees being elected by the community and while recognising the valuable services Mr. Cowasjee had rendered in the financial management of the trusts, was of opinion that steps should be taken to end the present situation of having only one trustee for life.
