District Collector P.B. Noohu has extended the prohibitory orders clamped on Sabarimala, Pampa, Nilackal and Elavumkal under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure by four more days, till November 26 midnight.The prohibitory orders clamped on these places for seven days on November 15 midnight were to end on Thursday midnight. The Collector’s decision came on the basis of a report from District Police Chief T. Narayanan and Additional District Magistrate at Sabarimala hinting at chances of violence in these places during the period. The District Police Chief, Pathanamthitta; the State Police Intelligence; and also the special officers at Nilackal, Pampa and the Sannidhanam had send cautionary reports against easing security measures in the pilgrim locality till the conclusion of the Mandalam-Makaravilakku season.
