The State School Arts Festival has been trimmed to three days in December.
A meeting of the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) committee for schools here on Tuesday decided to conduct the festival in Alappuzha from December 7 to 9. Only stage events will be held. Of the 231 total events at the State level, 47 non-stage events have been excluded. Instead, competitions will be held in one event on a single day at the district level. The works of those who secured A grade with first position will be evaluated at the State level and winners decided. With this, the district festivals will be wound up in two days.
The district festival will be completed between November 12 and 24. Subdistrict-level contests will be conducted from October 20 to November 3. These should be concluded in a single day. The school-level contests will be held from October 1 to 13.
The Special School Arts Festival will be held in Kollam from October 26 to 28. There will no change in the number of events. The State School Science Festival will be held in Kannur on November 24 and 25. It will be limited to students of Classes 8 to 12. The State School Sports Festival will be held in the State capital from October 26 to 28.
