The Indian Science Congress.

On Wednesday evening [September 25] a meeting of the General Local Committee of the Indian Science Congress (which is to meet in Bombay from the 13th to the 18th January, 1919) was held in the lecture theatre of the Gerard Freeman-Thomas War Hospital [in Bombay]. Sir Dorabji J. Tata, Chairman of the Local Committee, presided and about fifty members were present, representatives of the scientific and learned bodies of the Presidency. Sir Dorabji Tata in opening the proceedings emphasised the importance of science in all departments of modern life and dwelt particularly on the application of science to industry if industry is to be progressive.
