The quality of indelible ink manufactured by Mysuru Paints and Varnishes and used during elections in various parts of the country came in for praise from the Madhya Pradesh State Election Commissioner R. Parasuram.
“We are absolutely satisfied with the product,” said Mr. Parasuram when asked if there was any competition for the ink manufactured by the Mysuru-based company. Mr. Parasuram, who was presiding over the National Conference of State Election Commissioners here on Tuesday, said every State Election Commission was an independent authority and as far as Madhya Pradesh SEC was concerned they were satisfied with the product. On competition from private players, Mr. Parasuram said he felt that the ink they used should be from a public sector manufacturer like Mysuru Paints and Varnishes, which is a Karnataka government undertaking. “Also, the quality of product is very good. We will stick to it,” he said. After every election, people across the country will get a mark on their finger from “Mysuru ink,” he remarked.
