Telangana recorded its highest, to date, power demand of 10,429 mw on Tuesday with the consumption by the agriculture sector witnessing a sharp increase due to dry spell for over a week now. It eclipses the previous high load of 10,284 mw met on March 8 this year after the introduction of uninterrupted power supply to the farm sector along with others.
Stating that the demand was expected to go up during the ongoing kharif season, Energy Minister said on Tuesday that the two distribution companies (discoms) in the State were prepared to meet peak demand of 11,500 mw to 12,000 mw.
