BIMA SAKHI YOJANA: EMPOWERING WOMEN IN GOA

The Bima Sakhi Yojana, launched in Goa, aims to empower women and expand life insurance coverage.

Key Highlights:

  • Eligibility: Women aged 18-70 years with Class X education.
  • Training & Stipend:
    • ₹7,000/month (Year 1), ₹6,000/month (Year 2), ₹5,000/month (Year 3).
    • Total earnings: ₹2.16 lakh over three years, plus commissions.
  • Role: Train women as LIC agents to promote insurance and raise community awareness.
  • Vision: Recruit 200,000 agents nationwide, ensuring every panchayat has one Bima Sakhi.

Impact:
The scheme promotes gender equality, financial independence, and increased insurance penetration, aligning with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
