Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) and Anti-Dumping Duty on PVC Paste Resin Imports

The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended the imposition of an anti-dumping duty on the import of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Paste Resin from China and five other countries.

About DGTR:

  • DGTR, formerly known as the Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD), was established in May 2018 as an integrated single-window agency to provide a comprehensive and swift trade defense mechanism in India.

Anti-Dumping Duty:

  • Anti-dumping duty is a tax imposed to address the situation of dumping, where goods are exported at prices lower than their normal value, causing trade distortions.
  • Anti-Dumping Duties are governed by Article VI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994.
