India-UK ASPIRE Program: Second Phase

PRELIMS BITS: 

The second phase of the ASPIRE (Accelerating Sustainable Power and Inclusive Renewable Energy) program has been initiated as part of the Fourth India-UK Energy Dialogue.

About ASPIRE Program:

• Objective: Promotes clean energy transition and sustainable development in India.
• Focus Areas of Second Phase:
  • Round-the-Clock Power Supply: Technical support to ensure continuous electricity supply.
  • Renewable Energy Expansion: Strengthening India’s clean energy initiatives.
  • Industrial Efficiency & Decarbonization: Promoting energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

Implementation: The program is being carried out in partnership with India’s Ministry of Power (MoP) and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
