Context: India and Pakistan have renewed the Kartarpur Corridor agreement, extending it until 2029. The initial agreement was set for five years.

Key Details of the Kartarpur Corridor Agreement

  • First Agreement (October 2019): The initial agreement was signed to allow visa-free travel for Indian pilgrims through the corridor.
  • Open to All: The corridor is accessible to Indian pilgrims of all faiths who hold a valid passport, as well as persons of Indian origin with an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card.
  • Operating Hours: The corridor is open from dawn to dusk, and pilgrims are required to return to India on the same day after their visit.
