LEATHER INDUSTRY TURNS TO SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY

  • Sustainable fashion has found its supporters in Tamil Nadu as well.
  • A variety of leather products made with sustainable technology will be displayed at the Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers and Exporters Association (IFLMEA) on February 1.
  • International participants from 15 countries will also take part.
  • R. Vijayan, Chairman, IFLMEA, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, said the fair has proposed to put up more than 450 stalls.

  • This would help in removing the misconception about the leather industry of being a polluter, and highlight how the leather manufacturers are becoming environmentally responsible by investing in eco-friendly sustainable technology.
  • Tatheer Zaidi, General Manager, Solidaridad Asia, spoke on the eco-friendly technologies used by leather manufacturers.
