What is Monkeypox?
Monkeypox is a viral disease that primarily spreads to humans through zoonotic transmission, with rodents and primates being potential reservoirs of the virus. The first recorded case of human infection occurred in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Transmission:
Monkeypox can spread between humans through close contact and exposure to infected bodily fluids or lesions.

Incubation Period:
The incubation period for monkeypox, which is the time between exposure to the virus and the onset of symptoms, typically ranges from 6 to 13 days, though it can vary from 5 to 21 days.

Symptoms:
Common symptoms include skin rashes or mucosal lesions, fever, and swollen lymph nodes. These symptoms can lead to a variety of medical complications.

Vaccine Availability:
Currently, there is no effective vaccine available for the prevention of monkeypox infection.
