Overview:

Launched in 2025, this initiative aims to foster women entrepreneurship in Northeast India. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and NITI Aayog, it focuses on empowering women in higher education institutions across Assam, Meghalaya, and Mizoram.

Key Features:

  • Promotes entrepreneurial awareness and business development.
  • Provides mentorship, training, and funding support for women entrepreneurs.
  • Offers structured processes for business growth and sustainability.

Training Components:

  1. Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP):
    • Two-day introductory sessions for 600 female students.
  2. Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP):
    • Intensive 40-hour training for 300 participants, covering finance, market linkages, compliance, and networking.

Mentorship and Faculty Development:

  • Six months of mentorship to transform ideas into viable businesses.
  • Faculty Development Programme (FDP) equips educators with skills to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs.

Recognition and Support:

  • Awards to successful women entrepreneurs under the Awards to Rewards Initiative.
  • Alignment with Start-Up India and PM Mudra Yojana for extended government benefits.

Economic Impact:

  • Aims to ensure 10% of EDP trainees successfully launch enterprises.
  • Contributes to economic development and business growth in Northeast India.
