- President of India presents President鈥檚 colour to INS Dronacharya.
- The President’s Colour Award is the聽highest honour聽that can be聽bestowed upon any military unit of India.
- It is also known as聽鈥睳ishaan鈥猜爓hich is an聽emblem聽that is聽worn by all unit officers聽on the left-hand sleeve of their uniform.
- It is an聽acknowledgement聽of the unit’s聽meritorious service.
- While the聽practice of carrying the Colour聽into聽battle聽has聽stopped, the tradition of聽receiving,聽holding聽and聽parading聽the Colour聽continues聽even today in the Armed forces.
- If the聽unit lose their colours, it is a聽disgrace聽for that unit and, if the unit聽captured the enemy’s colours聽then it is a聽great honour聽for that unit.
- The聽‘Standards’聽are awarded to聽Heavy Cavalry聽and the聽‘Guidons’聽are awarded to聽Light Cavalry.
- In the聽absence聽of the聽President of India, the聽Vice President of India does not present colours聽to regiments, ships or air squadrons.
- The responsibility of being the聽guest of honour in his or her absence聽is prerogative of the聽Services Chiefs.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 INS Dronacharya is the聽gunnery聽school聽of the Indian Navy. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 It is聽located聽in聽Kochi,聽Kerala. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 INS Dronacharya is entrusted with the聽training of officers聽and聽sailors聽of the聽Navy,聽Coast聽Guard聽and聽friendly foreign maritime forces聽on all aspects of聽gunnery and missile warfare. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The unit is also the聽nodal centre聽for training of聽Sagar Prahari Bal聽and聽Navy’s centre for training聽in constabulary operations for several聽Indian Ocean Region (IOR) Nations. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The unit is also the聽training authority聽for聽drill and ceremonials聽in the Navy and Coast Guard. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 INS Dronacharya was designated as the聽Centre for Excellence in Gunnery and Missile Warfare in 2004. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The unit is聽affiliated with the Indian Army School of Artillery聽in the spirit of jointmanship. |
