Objective

  • Provide internship opportunities to address youth unemployment and equip young people with practical skills in a real-world environment.

Key Features

  1. Internship Opportunities:
    • Aims to provide internships to 1 crore youth over the next five years.
  2. Stipend:
    • Monthly stipend of 4,500 from the government.
    • Additional 500 from companies under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  3. One-Time Grant:
    • 6,000 provided upon enrollment.
  4. Insurance Coverage:
    • Benefits under PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.
  5. Duration:
    • Internship lasts for one year.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Age:
    • Between 21 to 24 years.
  2. Educational Qualifications:
    • Minimum qualification of Class 10th.
    • Graduates from premier institutions (IITs, IIMs) and professionally qualified individuals (e.g., CAs) are excluded.
  3. Employment Status:
    • Must not be in full-time employment.
  4. Income Restrictions:
    • Annual family income must not exceed 8 lakh.
    • Families with government employees are ineligible.
