Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute over 58 lakh property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme, aimed at empowering rural property owners by providing legal documentation of ownership. This initiative strengthens ownership rights in villages and improves access to credit and financial services.
Purpose of the SVAMITVA Scheme
The SVAMITVA scheme focuses on:
- Providing legal property ownership records.
- Reducing property disputes.
- Supporting better village planning.
- Increasing property tax collection to improve local governance.
Beneficiary Interaction and Drone Surveys
During the event, Prime Minister Modi will interact with beneficiaries to understand how the scheme has impacted their lives.
As part of the scheme, drone surveys have mapped over 3.17 lakh villages and 1.37 lakh crore square meters of residential land, ensuring accurate and transparent property records.
Distribution of Property Cards
To date, nearly 2 crore property cards have been issued, providing villagers with proof of ownership. These cards empower rural residents to use their properties for financial purposes, such as securing loans.
Nationwide Participation
Union Ministers and Chief Ministers from across India will join the event online, highlighting the importance of the SVAMITVA scheme in national development. Collaboration among various levels of government is key to the program’s success and reach.
