Heavy rains, landslips cut off NH 75

Kodagu inundated; administration issues advisory to tourists against travel to district The arterial road connecting Bengaluru to the State’s coast will be barred for heavy traffic for the next 10 days following incessant rains and repeated landslides in the Shiradi Ghat stretch of National Highway 75. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has cancelled 58 premier services to Mangaluru, Udupi, Kudapura, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. The Railways has partially cancelled or diverted many routes due to extreme weather conditions.

Many roads in Shivamogga and Kodagu districts have also been cut off following heavy rains. The Kodagu district administration has given an advisory against travel to the destination. Mandya district administration has set up a helpline for the flood affected.
