Overview of i-DRONE
  • Full Form: ICMR’s Drone Response and Outreach in North East
  • Developed By: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
  • Initial Purpose: Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure timely vaccine and medical supply deliveries in remote areas of Northeast India.
  • Current Expansion: Now being extended to other regions for broader healthcare applications.
Objectives
  • Improve healthcare accessibility in remote, hilly, and geographically challenging regions.
  • Enable rapid and efficient transport of essential medical supplies such as vaccines, blood samples, and other critical health resources using drones.
