  • India’s defense exports have reached a record high, with significant contributions from the private sector. The government aims to further boost exports by streamlining policies and encouraging indigenous production under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Make in India is a flagship initiative launched by the Government of India on 25th September 2014 to boost manufacturing, investment, and innovation in the country. It aims to transform India into a global manufacturing hub by encouraging domestic and foreign companies to manufacture products in India.

Key Objectives:

  1. Promote Manufacturing: Increase the contribution of the manufacturing sector to India’s GDP to 25% by 2025.
  2. Create Jobs: Generate employment opportunities for the growing workforce.
  3. Attract Investments: Encourage both foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic investment.
