KASHI TAMIL SANGAMAM 3.0: STRENGTHENING CULTURAL BONDS

The Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0, a cultural initiative fostering ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, commenced on February 15, 2025, with a special train flagged off from Chennai. Coinciding with the Maha Kumbh Mela, this event celebrates the legacy of Sage Agasthyar and is part of India’s broader cultural integration efforts.

  • Event Duration: February 15–24, 2025
  • Delegates: 1,080 participants from diverse backgrounds—students, teachers, farmers, professionals, artisans, and entrepreneurs.
  • Theme: Maharishi Agasthyar, highlighting his contributions to health, science, philosophy, and literature through exhibitions, seminars, and book releases.
  • Delegate Categories:
    • Students, teachers, and writers
    • Farmers and artisans
    • Professionals and small entrepreneurs
    • Women from self-help groups
    • Start-ups and researchers
  • Transport & Logistics: Southern Railway facilitated travel, with Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi flagging off the first batch.

Historical & Educational Significance:

  • Previous Editions: Held in 2022 and 2023, engaging 4,000 delegates.
  • Educational Link: Supports NEP 2020, integrating traditional knowledge with modern education. IIT Madras and Banaras Hindu University are the implementing agencies.
  • Community Engagement: Promotes knowledge exchange, deepening cultural ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.

This initiative continues to bridge historical and cultural connections, fostering national unity and mutual appreciation.
