Overview:

SPHEREx (Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization, and Ices Explorer) is set to launch on February 27, 2025, with a mission to survey the cosmos and decode mysteries of the Big Bang.

Key Features:

  • Entire sky survey with data collection in 102 infrared colors.
  • Compact structure (8.5 ft tall and 10.5 ft wide) capable of capturing 600 images per day.
  • Full-sky map completion every six months during its 27-month mission.
