Context:
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, via DPIIT, announced the second edition of ODOP Awards to promote Aatmanirbhar Bharat by recognising states, districts, and Indian Missions Abroad.
ODOP 2024 Highlights:
- Mission Abroad Category:
- Gold: High Commission of India in Singapore
 - Silver: Consulate General of India in New York
 
 - States/UTs – Category A:
- Gold: Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh
 - Silver: Madhya Pradesh
 - Bronze: Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal
 
 - States/UTs – Category B:
- Gold: Jammu & Kashmir
 - Silver: Sikkim
 - Bronze: Meghalaya, Ladakh
 
 - Districts – Category A (Agriculture):
- Gold: Guntur (Chillies), Ratnagiri (Alphonso Mangoes)
 
 - Districts – Category B (Non-Agriculture):
- Gold: Bapatla for Chirala Silk Sarees (Kuppadam)
 
 
About ODOP Scheme:
- Implemented by DPIIT and co-funded (60:40) by Centre and States.
 - Merged with the ‘Districts as Export Hub’ initiative.
 - Aims to promote balanced regional development.
 
Objectives:
- Enable districts to reach economic potential.
 - Encourage cultural and industrial growth.
