Context
- The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is set to launch SabhaSaar, an AI-based tool for recording and documenting Panchayat-level meetings.
Features of SabhaSaar
- AI-driven Summarisation: Automatically generates structured Minutes of Meeting (MoM) from audio/video recordings.
- Technology Base: Uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) for transcription and decision extraction.
- Language Support: Integrated with Bhashini, currently supporting 13 Indian languages, with plans for expansion.
- Pilot Rollout: Initially to be implemented across Gram Panchayats in Tripura.
Significance
- Enhances participatory democracy by ensuring transparency and accountability in Gram Sabha proceedings.
- Provides standardised digital records, improving governance efficiency.
- NLP (Natural Language Processing) enables machines to understand, interpret, and generate human language for governance applications.
