TELE-CONSULTATION THROUGH ‘LIFESAVING’ APP’

eSanjeevani app, a free telemedicine service run by the Centre, a ‘lifesaving app’ for the common man.
In his monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the PM said more than 10 crore people have availed tele-consultation through the app till date.
ESanjeevani is becoming a lifesaving app for the commonman of the country, for the middle class, for people living in hilly areas. This is the power of India’s digital revolution.
E-Sanjeevani consists of two verticals that cater to patients across all states and UTs successfully making its presence felt in the innermost regions of the nation.
The first vertical eSanjee-vani AB-HWC (Ayushman Bharat — Health and Wellness Centre) endeavours to bridge rural-urban digital health divide by providing assisted teleconsultations, and ensuring that the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Scheme are able to avail of the benefits they are entitled to.
As per health ministry, eSanjeevaniOPD is the latter vertical which caters to citizens in both rural and urban alike.
It leverages technology via smartphones, tablets, laptops enabling doctor consultations to be accessible from the patient’s residence regardless of location.
Many countries are drawn towards it. Just a few days ago, UPI-Pay Now Link was launched between India and Singapore. Now, people of Singapore and India are transferring money from their phones in the same way as they do within their respective countries.
