GS3 – Internal Security

The Pratibimb module, launched by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), is enhancing cybercrime investigations through advanced tracking and monitoring mechanisms.

Key Features of Pratibimb Module

  • GIS-Based Tracking System: Utilizes Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to monitor cybercriminals in real time.
  • Crime Infrastructure Mapping: Offers jurisdictional officers better visibility and enforcement capabilities.
  • Mobile Number Projection: Identifies and tracks mobile numbers linked to cybercrimes nationwide.
Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)
  • Established by: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as a central hub for cybercrime enforcement.
  • Key Initiative: Manages the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), allowing individuals to report cyber offenses online.
Key Functions of I4C
  • Cybercrime Prevention: Strengthens law enforcement response to digital frauds and online threats.
  • Cyber Forensics & R&D: Develops investigative tools in collaboration with research institutions.
  • Monitoring Terrorism & Extremism: Prevents the misuse of cyberspace by radical organizations.
  • International Cyber Law Coordination: Facilitates Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) for cross-border cybercrime cases.
  • Cyber Crime Volunteers Program: Encourages citizen participation in identifying and countering cyber threats.
